Siriya Hajos

Siriya is an Early Childhood Educator with a passion for life-long learning and internal locus of control. Because of this belief, Siriya graduated with High Honours and received the Sheridan Academic Medal for graduating with the highest cumulative academic records in the ECE diploma program at Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario.

Among Sheridan’s 7,500 graduates in 2016, Siriya was a sole recipient of the Governor General’s Medal which was awarded to a graduate with the highest overall academic record in the entire graduating class. The Governor General Medal is Canada’s most prestigious education award.

Siriya loves to learn and always finds ways to strengthen her knowledge in the education field. Siriya studied to become an ECE because she believed in human potential. She was fascinated by brain development, human motivation, and the work of different developmental theorists such as Lev Vygotsky, Jean Piaget, and Erik Erikson. Siriya believes that a child is not a lone scientist who learns on his own but an apprentice who learns best when s/he interacts with an adult or more advanced and knowledgeable peer. For this reason, Siriya views the Multiage classroom as one of the most perfect environments for learning.

Siriya believes that an ability to learn and create is one of the most important evolutions of our species. Knowledge and intrinsic motivation are a powerful instrument that helps people achieve their goals.
Siriya views the early years as the most crucial years in human lifespan. These are the years that may make or break a person. Siriya also values life skills and social interactions as they are the fundamental influences in the development of the whole child.
